The opening scene is a very vague summary of the book. Nick begins by explaining his life as a child as well as a piece of advice his father gave him. He talks about the thing he has experienced so far. This makes the reader think that Nick isn’t just any ordinary person and has experienced something significant in his life. Nick also talks about Gatsby and what happened to him. It shows the type of mindset and person Nick is and how this will change how the story is told.
Identify the significance of the ending/closing scene Nick explains the aftermath of Gatsby’s death. It completely changed. His house was empty and abandoned.
