The Igbo people had somewhat of an understanding though. Chinua Achebe writes, “God living on high and that all men when they died went before him for judgement”(145). In addition, the igbo people of today understood religion more and more as they evolve into modern days. According to Nigerian EmbassyUSA.org, “Nigeria is a multi-religious country. Fifty percent of the population practice islam while the rest adhere to Christianity.” Christianity is more popular now and bringing little that they did know about religion helped in the long run because a lot of things were similar, as well as many things they did not know. They now have a better understanding thus, causing Nigeria to practice modern day religion. It also became one of the biggest religions practiced there today.
In conclusion, Modern day Nigeria has been formed within religion. Looking back at how it was when Igbo people knew little about christianity to being introduced to it.
