“The Fukushima accident has also had a significant effect on the nuclear policies of many countries. Due to Fukushima occurring, Fukushima contaminated the whole Pacific Ocean in only five years. The negative impacts are that countless people lost everything such as their house, their possessions, and most importantly their love ones. Fukushima alone killed nearly 16,000 people. Many people died of radiation exposure, psychological traumas, cancer, and thyroid damage(Americans Donated More than $700 Million to Aid Japan after Quake-tsunami). Stanford researchers have determined that radiation may eventually cause anywhere from 15 to 1,300 deaths and from 24 to 2,500 cases of cancer, mostly in Japan. (ScienceDaily). The entire commonwealth and the large groundwork that was lost formed immediate interruptions in Japan’s vast supply networks.
