It’s a process that takes a look towards the future and actually sets a guide for the organization to follow to achieve certain goals and or benchmarks that have been set by the plan. These goals and or benchmarks are time sensitive and can be set by the organization of the command staff; the plan might be a year, three (3) years or five (5) years. The plan could very well be altered at a certain point and time if the priorities of the organization changes. This plan is very important to the success or the failure of the organization and it will ultimately be how it is judged.
