The application of these articles saw the congress going through various troubles when it tried to pass certain laws based on the number of states that were under the government at that time (Cheol Ung Je, 2011). During this time, a total of nine out of thirteen states had to agree to a law before it could be passed into law by the congress. During these times, there was no president and there were no courts that could interpret the laws for the sole reason that the national court system was not in existence. A combination of these factors made it hard to pass any bills as well as to change the articles of consideration (Clinton, 2011). Some of the powers that are shared between the federal and the state government include that of regulating elections, borrowing money, taxing, and establishing courts (Clinton, 2011). Despite the process of sharing these powers being important in the involved governments, there grows some conflicts between the interests of the federal and the state governments. The result of this may be disastrous thus calling for the development of a uniform government that could carry all the activities uniformly (Dhar, n.d.).
Conclusion
To conclude, there are a number of discussions that have been done on the need for having a small government but very little has been done on the importance and the need to have a large government. As a result, this paper has given some of the important arguments that brings out the importance of having a large government running the affairs of a given nation.
