Art is by all means just as academic because it holds meaning and inspires. Unfortunately the word academic has turned into a limited amount of subjects.
The combination of Art and Technology is the world we live in. Everything that has been manmade holds logical structure and artistic design. Technology classes can teach art, such as graphic design, photo, and animation. But Technology has can also easily replace math with programming and solving complex problems. The intuitive nature that human have is not exploited as much as it should. Give people hammer and wood, tell them to build a house, but don’t give them a blueprint. The philosophy of schools has been hold their hands through the entire process.
Schools also fail to teach to the future, the computer is already able to much more than most children can but if you can control a computer, then you can exploit its capabilities for yourself. In this generation there is going to be the Internet of things, which is the interaction of all the electronics in your home talking to each other to provide a better life for you. Why aren’t schools teaching about this? It is considered to be the next biggest internet, that is just now being …show more content…
This model allows a lot of room for wavering of interest on the topic. Listening to 8 different people for 8 hours a day gets old very fast, Socratic discussion needs to be a component that’s needed. It becomes very clear which students have studied, making much more obvious over who has prepared. There is a difference between a person talking at crowd than with the crowd. The current model of education is only conducive to two types of behavior, rebellion or following like a sheep. The flexibility currently in the classrooms is just ambiguity that is un-needed. They like to not teach towards the test but instead teach something that is much more broad. When students aren’t performing it is crystal clear, that the entire model is on its head for productivity. Change the tests to allow freedom of thinking, but teach towards the test by allowing students to articulate their thoughts.
The replacement of math with computer science would allow students to solve problems in more than one way, making them original thinkers. It has been taught for some time that math only has one way of solving a problem, when students are given options it is better remembered. Technology offers a whole new range of math to be explored, the drills of mental addition, Is still recommended however the structure of solving a problem should still be held in a free
