Our society is constantly evolving and changing and information is being added on the internet constantly by the second. Decision support systems have been around since the end of the 1960’s. The Decision support systems became introduced fully in the 1970’s. Decision Support System has been developing for almost 40 years by different researchers. Decision Support Systems has been helpful in helping speedy computations, improved communication and collaboration, increased productivity in staff, improved the quality of decision making, improve the flexibility of time and the space of decision making. During this time period, Decision support systems evolve in a more computer-based systems that supported production, promotion, pricing, marketing and some logistical functions. Later in the 1980’s, the Decision support system began to help companies enjoy more interests from academics and the framework for Decision Support Systems. During the 1990’s, the Decision Support Systems began to become a more complex systems, which incorporated, advanced database technology and client server capabilities. The system began emerging from many areas in business processes. Clinical decisions are used daily by healthcare service providers for daily routine task. They are often based on clinical guidance and evidence-based rules derived from medical science. A clinical decision support system (CDSS) “is an application that analyzes data to help healthcare providers make clinical decisions. A CDSS is an adaptation of the decision support system commonly used to support business management.” (5) It is described as a process that helps healthcare providers make health related decisions and actions that are important and relevant to the providing the patient with improved healthcare service.
