Color is a key component as it plays the biggest motivation for shopping. Colors are able to influence consumer choices. Different colors tend to evoke different feelings in people, which can affect how they perceive products.
Color also influences customer’s impression of a whole store appearance. IKEA attracts customer’s attention by using warm and cool colors for their logo and store building such as blue and yellow. Blue evokes feeling of calmness while bright colors such as yellow evokes feelings such as excitement.
IKEA also uses color schemes such as monochromatic, analogous and complement to design their showrooms.

IKEA adopts a race-track store layout. The store layout is design to guide customers counter clockwise throughout the store by following a one-way route. This allows customers see the entire store. In addition, as IKEA adopts a windowless window display structure, customers are unable to get a glimpse of what is sold in stores and encouraged to entre.
The selling space in IKEA is divided into three sections, furniture showroom, market-hall and self-serve area. When customer’s first step into the selling floor, they are welcomed with showrooms. Customers are then lead to the market hall where they can buy small items such as stool, candles and these items are usually price at a low price before they collect their items at the self-serve area.

The showrooms shows how the different furniture is being decorated. The furniture showrooms are inspired by local references such as home visits and also market surveys. They are designed to give and inspire customers with ideas for every area of the home including kitchen, bedroom and living room. In addition, this display technique inspires customers by showing how different parts of IKEA range are able to work together. Thus a well-design showroom will inspire customers to decorate and implement in their own homes. They design the room settings and product displays in such a way as to make the whole product range both attractive and
