Quaghebeur and the others aimed to examine the argument by reviewing argument-based ethics literature (2009). Their review took place in four steps; focused questions, research based on those questions, then evaluation the ethical arguments of euthanasia, and finally the conclusion and results. I believe that both topics should be discussed in depth. I think there should be strict guidelines to both options but I think it should be available to select patients. I believe that terminally ill patients should have the choice to die with dignity. The right-to-die and the choice-to-die affects the field of nursing by possibly causing moral distress in nurses. Euthanasia should only be available to mentally competent terminally ill patients that are suffering. Euthanasia should not be available to mentally incompetent people because they might not fully understand the irreversible affect of assisted suicide. I do not believe any nurse or physician should be forced to provide a lethal dose of medication. Healthcare providers should not have to go against their own values to provide care. The right-to-die and euthanasia are connected because your first must have the right to die to request medically assisted suicide. Many law makers are considering allowing healthcare providers to aid in the dying process. I believe the opportunity would allow many more patients to die with
