To better analyze, this year’s Global Education Report’s survey results, and try to understand what is influencing their choices. NJ MED’s research staff uses the survey participants overall responses from the 12 choices to choose from; in the order of what they say needs the most improvement, and try to provide perspective why, and adds their suggestions on what might work to improve each problem area:

In school culture events help students become more culture sensitive, and develop a better ethic and morale foundation. Arts and craft, regular field trips help students become more cultural aware of their past and place value on traditions.
The need to sponsor more culture activities will require schools to work with local museums, develop online distance learning of other cultures, and having children visit cultural sites.
More After-School Program - 4%. Tutoring, recreational, and science program for students in primary and secondary schools helps improve academic and social skills. Many western cultures use these programs to encourage education support, while eastern schools, like South Korea and Japan, use them to strengthen academics.
The need for both academic and recreational after-school programs is vital for students 6 to 14 years of age, towards developing better social skills and an understanding of study habits. More Parent Involvement in Schools - 3%. Student’s parents that are involved in their child’s academic are 25% more likely to do well in school, then parents who do not.
The academic gap that exist in communities starts at the homes of students and the value that is place on education by the parents. Early-childhood education helps close the gap for many students, and also for primary education for students aged 5 to 9, by good teachers. However, student’s social interactions with other students becomes a bigger influences on their critical thinking process has they get older, therefore, the need for parent involvement helps maintain values for the students. If a disconnect, exist between the student, parent and education goals; students loss focus and develop negative patterns of academic
