Because of the ACA millions of uninsured Americans gained access to high quality affordable health insurance through programs such as Medicaid expansion, their employers, and the health insurance marketplace. Over half of uninsured people in the U.S can get free or low cost health insurance through the subsidized financial assistance in their states or from the federal government. Almost 20 million people will be exempt from the fee by 2016 or they will still be able to receive financial assistance for their health insurance. The private coverage options have increased substantially and now all of the major medical coverage options are forced to provide minimum essential health insurance coverage policies. Both major parties are on the lookout for a better alternative, but thus far there has not been much progress. Healthcare in both U.S and Europe is being fueled by the tax payer’s money. There are only a few key differences, which in Europe the government handles most of the healthcare spending budgets and all of the public health facility workers are employed by the government, and the quality of the healthcare is sometimes not as high as the U.S. Where as in the U.S almost all of the healthcare system and facilities are controlled by the private sector, which the prices are much higher than other countries and in most cases the quality of the healthcare is also higher.
