I believe that if one thinks negatively, then they will notice only negative things happening to them. There is psychology research that suggest that optimist tend to have better physical and mental health compared to pessimists, giving them a greater ability to endure hardship (Brooks 3). When I was fifteen and a half I was very eager to get my driver’s permit. I had studied and studied for months and waited years for this moment. I went into the Department Of Motor Vehicles and after waiting in line for what felt like forever, it was finally my turn to take the exam. The suspense had me doubting my own knowledge of any driving laws. I began the test on the computer, which indicates whether an answer is right or wrong. So when I would answer incorrectly, I would count on my fingers to know how many more I could miss. When I answered nine questions wrong (you can only miss eight to pass), my heart sunk because at that point, I knew I did not pass the test. At first, I was extremely hard on myself and did not have the most positive look on current situations. The next morning, I realized that the failing of the first learner’s permit test does not determine anything about who I am so, I went back the next week maintaining a very positive attitude and, I passed! Six months later, I prepared to take the driving test. Learning from my previous DMV tests, I practiced and went in with confidence. With no surprised, passed with flying
