Westerkamp attempts to explore the soundscape of the park and discover how sound harmonize with the visual impression and importance of surrounding sound. This soundwalk has seven spot of listening location: 1.Entrance, 2.Kinfe-Edge, 3.Lookout, 4.Conservatory, 5.Sunken Garden, 6.Creek and 7.Quarry.Westerkamp provide instruction like”Listen to your footsteps and experiment with your own voice” ”Sit down and let the sounds of the flowing water soothe you” etc, to brainstorm the idea of soundwalk, but also pointed out some significant sound that creating a sense of acoustic space. At the end of the soundwalk, Westerkamp has questioned that whether the park is charming in the sense of acoustic or visual. Her question wasn’t to compare visual acoustic, but to show how listening is as essential as seeing. Her work demonstrates the interaction between human activity and the nature, via the sound of movement of the soundwalker created during the walk, every footstep and breathing has its sound which created a total different experience among the practitioners. My case study has shown that they both have a akin purpose in listening surroundings and finding unknown or undervalued sound. Organization like The World Listening Project (WLP) also promotes these two practices as the way to explore the neglected sound. It was organized to acknowledge the world and the natural environment, societies and culture through the practice of listening and field recording. An global soundwalking and field recording event organized by WLP had hit town on World listening Day(July 18) in 2016, with the theme ”Sounds Lost and found”, majority are invited to observe and listen into the change of soundscape around them. Also to spotlight the importance of preserving sound which is fragile and susceptible. Although the event wasn’t world spread enough and getting well-known in every society, but the purpose of “Sound Lost and found” did show the evidence that how field recording and soundwalking related to each other, in the way how WTP encourage majority begin both practices at the same time, while listening to the sound around us we can also practice field recording to capture some mysterious
