From the start of elementary school, I slowly came to realize the purpose of school and the worth of myself through numbers and figures. I remembered feeling a sense of innocence and intrigue when it came to learning for the very first time.
As I climbed up one grade at a time as a young pupil, I would always be faced with the “big test” every year. The same scenario would repeat, instructions would be given, and a small thin paperback book alongside a sharpened #2 pencil would be placed on my desk. Finding the high school was the first part of my struggles, but keeping my grades up was another thing. Keeping up test scores was another thing. Trying to enter this magnet school was no easy task either. I only barely made it in with a single call late in June. When school finally came around, I overheard gossip of newer up to date tests. Difficult ways of challenging students and all I could think about was how at stake my grades were. It would be difficult to keep up with my grades as well as prepare. What knowledge would I need to keep hold of when these new innovative tests roll around. However, the real question was, why are students still taking outdated
