I believe we perform and select task according to our beliefs and values. When you select an activity you tend to gravitate towards something that elicits positive emotions. Yet, there comes a time in your life when an occupation is something more. It gives you identity and purpose in life. When I was selecting the model for this assignment those were the aspects I took into consideration. What drove me to select certain activities, what made me feel whole, and what made me genuinely happy? First I began by writing down my beliefs and determining how they impact my occupation and occupation-based behaviors. After I wrote my beliefs down I went through my notes and glanced at the overall concepts of each model. There were three models that really spoke to my personal belief system which were, the Canadian Model of Performance and Engagement, the Model of Human Occupation, and the Kawa Model. Those activities are not always actives you enjoy but they start to influence you and reflect on who you are. I believe your activities are based upon who you are and what role you have in life. An example of this is how I pick my leisure activities. My favorite leisure activity involves going to a movie that is PG or G rated and is anime. This is highly influenced by my role as an aunt. According to Wada (2011), whatever role an individual identifies within a group will highly influence their occupation-based behaviors. Even performing occupation-based behavior in the daily living category like hairstyling is influenced by my role as an aunt. For one, I will match my hairstyle to that of my nieces, especially on recital days because they love to match. If I am taking care of the littlest nephew my hair goes up in a ponytail because he loves to pull on it. That is how influential my role as an aunt is on my occupation based
