In “The Lord Of The Flies” a group of schoolboys are trapped on a deserted island in the middle of the ocean. At first everyone stays calm and follows the rules. Then as one boy grows the urge to become chief the tribe splits in two. One boy creates a new tribe full of hunters and savages, The other keeps the old more civilized tribe. The hunters and savages have lots of food in the tribe, this results in more power and numbers. The savages grew so strong that they started to kill off some of the boys. Ralph was the chief of the tribe in the beginning and the leader of the civilized tribe towards the end. Ralph’s main objective was to get rescued. The antagonist of the story was Jack Merridew a red haired choirboy. Jack was at first the leader of the hunters and towards the end the leader of the savages. He loved the thrill of the hunt so much that we would do anything for it. Piggy was a fat boy with asthma, bad eyesight, and an accent. In the story Piggy tried to control the people and make the island more like a society. Roger was a fit choirboy that had an evil personality and liked to hurt others for pleasure. Samneric (Sam and Eric) are identical twins that are in their own society, they agree on everything and almost do everything the same. Once Jack killed his first pig he felt the urge to kill more and more, Jack loved the thrill of hunting thing and ending their lives. This violent power turned Jack into a hunting machine, eventually he grew the hunger for human blood. This also happens in our instincts, if you were to hurt someone the power you have over them drives you to hurt them more. This happens in real life too, an example would be war people wouldn't kill other people for just winning, they like to feel the power of taking the life from another human.
