Joseph Stalin, the commander and leader of the Soviet Union at the time of World War II, was overwhelmed because of the attack. In the same month of the attack, the Soviet Union joined the Allied powers. Shortly after the invasion of Poland in the beginning of World War II, Australia joined the Allied powers. Arthur Fadden was The Prime Minister of Australia until forced out of office in October, nineteen-forty-one. When he was forced out of office, John Curtin took his place as Prime Minister until July fifth, nineteen-forty-five, when he died. With about a million Australians fighting in the war, they played a key role in fighting off Japan in the Pacific. Belgium was a neutral country at the beginning of World War II. They intended to stay neutral throughout the whole war, but after German forces invaded and attacked Belgium on May tenth, nineteen-forty, The Belgian Army and commander King Leopold III surrendered to the Germans. April thirtieth, nineteen-forty-five is a very significant day during World War II. This is the day that Adolf Hitler committed suicide. Germany knew for a while that they would eventually lose the war. This fear became more drastic after D-day. Many Nazi’s secretly planned to remove Hilter from Dictator. When Hitler would find out about Nazi’s that were against him, he would kill them. He killed over three-thousand of his own men. After Hitler took the cyanide pill and shot himself in the head, Germany quickly surrendered to the allied Forces of the Western front.
On September second, nineteen-forty-five, Japan surrendered to the Allied Powers. The Allies got together and more that two-hundred-fifty battleship surrounded Tokyo Bay. Many Japanese leaders signed documents to say officially that Japan has surrendered. This marked the end of World War
