In the current day and age the death row doesn’t make any logistical sense for the United States of America to continue to uphold. The death penalty costs more to maintain rather than a sentence to life, when taking into consideration the long legal process in order to come to a lawful sentence and fair trial of the accused. The government is using valuable resources to go through the long arduous process, such as judges, prosecutors, and other court devices. It is estimated that cases with the death penalty as a possibility costs approximately four times as more than those that don’t; New York estimated that it cost 1.8 million dollars just for the trial and initial appeal of one case alone. Hopefully the trend throughout American History (Evolution of Ideas) of the death penalty will be displayed by realizing the states are above the death penalty and one last metamorphosis will take place to put this debate to a temporary end that fits the current time and ideals. Such as how it is a fruitless practice logically since it drains the pockets of taxpayers and is considered an easier choice other life in prison, it causes a mental, emotional and physical tax on both the families of the accused
