Unfortunately, there are countless negative stigma attach to Mental health. Due to the this many people affect by mental health issues refrain from getting help. "The stigma associated with receiving mental health care is one barriers, with public sentiment of being "crazy" hindering efforts to seek professional help" (). This can be problematic, people who decide to enroll in mental health program are ridiculed and seen as insane. “Stigma surrounding mental illness, and lack of knowledge regarding mental health disorders and treatments, also may play a role in lower utilization of mental health services” (Kramer, J Elizabeth & et al. p10). To combat the negative stigma attached to mental health, it is important to educate the public about it. They need to be taught that having mental health issues does not always equal to being insane. These challenges can be addressed by educating parents and children about the benefits of mental health programs. It is also important to ensure them that the service they receive will be confidential. This is will help assure them that other people will not know about the service they receive. Moreover, they won’t have to worry about others labeling or calling them “crazy” for enrolling in mental health program.
