What some people may not know is that there are many addictive drugs available that consumers can take more advantage of and also not suffer for any criminal consequences because they are legal. Drugs such as an alcohol, tobacco and opioid pills are legal and those are the type of drugs that people use and abuse and develop an addiction. Since marijuana is illegal, more people fall into a category of having some sort of "drug dependence" for using it. Not because of what they are addicted, but the criminal justice law enforces it (Marijuana: The Facts). Most people at this time are focusing on marijuana and less on alcohol and cigarettes as being addictive. People with serious health issues are now employing marijuana to feel less pain. This has been proven as an effective medicine. Benefits to cigarettes and alcohol use have never been found. “Even activists now concede that marijuana is addictive for 10% of regular users- making it less addictive than alcohol 15% and much less addictive than cigarettes 32%, which are, they point out, perfectly legal." State government is making it difficult for owners of dispensaries to keep their money safe by refusing to allow them to open bank accounts.
