An example of these verses present in the text is the Muslim view on war. In chapter 5 verse 53, the Qur’an states,
“The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement.” (Answering Muslims).
This verse states that disbelieves of Allah should be killed without mercy. They should not be given the chance to redeem themselves or change their ways for they have treated Allah with disrespect. It is their belief that Allah deserves love and respect superior to everyone else. This verse condemns the non-believers, but does not express Allah’s view towards those who obey.

The Qur’an also says in 5:33, “...the taking of one innocent life is like taking all of Mankind...and the saving of one life is like saving all of Mankind.” (Aliyah).
