There are two possible routes that the earliest humans took out of Africa. One was North of the Red Sea across the Sues and into the Middle East but this route would have been less successful due to the fact that they would have had to cross the Sahara Desert where it was drier than it is today. The other route was more probable and more successful and it was started on …show more content…
We can almost look at the rest of the population as a variation of the earliest humans from Africa. The earliest humans all originated from Africa and either stayed or migrated to other continents. All human traits, with the exceptions of physical differences due to adaptation, natural selection, and sexual selection, can be found in Africa. Thus, the people of the African continent would exhibit greater genetic diversity in comparison to people on other continents.

What the findings in this video imply about the concept of race in our society as well as in other societies is that instead of us being of different races we are all of one race; the human race. These physical differences that exist are due to our ancestors, natural selection, adaptation, diets and a slew of other factors that make up our physical differences. For example, in the video, a group of the earliest humans traveled and lived in Malaysia and were no longer exposed to the harsh sunlight as much as their ancestors did when they lived in Africa. This caused over the generations a change in skin color to a lighter shade in order to survive. If we are to go by the definition of what race is then yes race does exist as a biological fact. We exhibit many physical characteristics that differ from one another but the fact remains that while we have different physical traits we all, on a biological level, are more similar than we are different. The concept of race has not always existed it is a concept that our ancestors arbitrarily decided upon when they came across people of physical differences as a means to classify and distinguish
