Knowledge on domestic violence is becoming more and more prevalent in the United States and around the worlds. Family violence, Teen dating violence and Inter partner violence is being talked about more and becoming known as abuse and not something that is just “ok” or just how a person is or their beliefs. There are many different types of domestic violence that affect people today. According to justice.gov, domestic violence is a way for one partner to control the other partner. This can be sexual, physical, emotional, economic, psychological abuse, This includes any actions that intimidate, manipulates, humiliates, isolates, frightens, terrorize, coerce, threaten, blame, hurt, injury or wound someone. In encouraging youth to talk about teen dating violence it may bring up questions that could help friends help each other. In the article it talked about teens going to their friends about the violence rather than adults or authority, if they were made aware of the effects and what signs were friend may feel more empowered to point it out and encourage each other to not continue in the relationship.
