In August 23,1914, the battle of Tannenberg was the first war that Russia were going against the Germans. Germany were more advance in technology and military. Therefore, Russia were in a disadvantage towards Germany. During the battle of Tannenberg, the Russian army invaded German East Prussia; however, Russia failed to executed their plans. The German army were able to surround the entire forest and defeated the Russian and made them have many casualties. Many members of the Russian Army were either dead or in prison because “ In total, over 50,000 Russian soldiers were killed and some 92,000 taken as prisoners in the Battle of Tannenberg” (History.com). This shows that Russia’s military was not ready for the war, and that many of the soldiers suffered because they are dieing for fight for their own country. The Battle of Tannenberg was the worst battle that ever happened to Russia causing the people in Russia to be upset and restless because it seemed that everything is going wrong.
