The United Nations has listed extreme hunger and the eradication of poverty as one of the main priorities of the Millennium Development Goals. The main reason that extreme poverty exists is because many underdeveloped nations lack the resources and the infrastructure to aid their people. Most countries don’t have the means to access services such as medical aid or education and so the government and people have no way of digging themselves out of this hole that they have created for themselves. The Bank Group also raised 22.2 million dollars in 2014 and tried to promote economic growth in third world countries. UNICEF responded to world poverty and hunger by building facilities for around 270 million children who do not have access to proper medical services.
