Going to see shows and movies is a great way for people in a society to connect with those around them viewing the show and connect to the actors by comparing their actions to ones that have been true in reality. Many war or super hero movies are based on or work around true events in history. “The Sniper” is about an American soldier fighting in battle and the new “Wonder Woman” movie that came out in 2017 takes place during WWII. The viewers can connect to the characters easily as the events that happened were real in these movies. It is also eye-opening to the viewers who may not have been in combat or realize what it’s like to live at home with a loved one over seas risking their lives; like the wife of the man in “The Sniper” who is constantly watching the television for updates on the war. Entertainment can provide realizations and life lessons to viewers too. Shakespearean plays are appealing to the audience because the language allows the audience to look deeper into the actors emotions and better understand the drama or love story that is being played out. In the play “Romeo and Juliet” Shakespeare tells of a boy and a girl who are secretly in love. They are so in love that they would die for each other and die if the other died as well. However, it allows the opportunity with jobs for the actors and crew men and the people who work at the theater and television program provider. People in our society like Zac Efron, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Watson, and Nicolas Cage would not be well known in society if entertainment was non-existent. Acting is their job and lifestyle. It is how they pay the bills. They found something they are good at and turned it into a career. Therefore, entertainment is not a waste of money because the money that is spent to see a show or buy a television and program provider goes to the ones working behind the scenes and on screen. It does not dissolve ties of society because the actors are able to connect to each other through their characters and the audience can connect to the characters as well. People with common interests connect to each other based on likes. And those who like similar shows can connect through discussion of the shows as
