One of the things I loved best about the book is that the author attempts to anticipate the readers’ questions. He strives to answer these questions in a way that is very clear and precise. But if for some reason, you still don’t understand or have an additional question the book offers biblical references that you can refer to in several different versions of the bible New Revised Version included. At the end of each chapter the author lists some of the questions he earlier anticipated. There are even some questions that you may not have had in mind but you should be able to answer after reading the chapter and the scriptures associated with it. Dr. Tarwater strives to ensure that the reader fully understands what they’ve just read before moving on to a new chapter. Not just for those who are new to the bible or students, it’s a great book to have in your collection. It’s not overly complicated to read although it has its areas that are a little harder than others. It works well as an addition to teachings of the Old Testament; it has a way of complimenting other versions of the same story. One of my favorite parts was learning that there were actually different theories of creation. This is something I never knew and after reading the book made me wonder which theory I believed in if I believe in any. This book not only gives you the stories of the Old Testament but it also lets the reader in on some of the strife behind it and some of its most noted events. Before reading the Story of the Pentateuch I didn’t know the magnitude of things that happened within it that still have an effect on mankind. The reader will have little to no problems transitioning to the New Testament after reading this publication. The reader will have a clearer perceptive of why things are happening the way they are in the New Testament because the Old Testament was broken down and written to give the reader the most satisfaction out of it. Some of the practice the reader gets in pronunciations and understanding the meaning of the time will help the reader in future to interpret biblical vocabulary. This is a great book and I would recommend that everyone read
