Have you ever thought about what is world hunger? World hunger can be defined as the hunger problems that occur globally. People will suffer from hunger problems because they do not have enough food to consume. This can be further explain when almost 795 million people or one in nine people around the world do not have sufficient food to eat. So, there are three causes of world hunger which are climate, poverty, overpopulation and these causes will bring to an effect which is the growth development of children.

Poverty leads to people being unable to afford for food and hence people go hungry because hunger is more than just the result of food production and meeting demands (Anup Shah, 2010). At 2012 statistics, the World Bank has estimated that there were 896 million poor people in developing countries who live on $1.90 a day or less, compared with 1.95 billion in 1990, and 1.99 billion in 1981(“World Hunger And Poverty Facts And Statistics”,2016). As a family sinks into poverty, they are forced to stretch their meager income because as more money is spent on food, less money is available to spend on health care, savings, and education (Stoltz, 2011). Continuing hunger causes children cannot consume enough protein and nutrients that require for healthy growth (Freedom from Hunger, 2013). So, children may undergo stunting, underweight and wasting conditions that will cause them get into high risk of malnutrition, illness and death (World Hunger Education Service, 2016). According to Gibbs (2015), world hunger causes one in three children have stunted growth while roughly 146 million children in underweight condition. Based on World Hunger Series 2006, as cited in World Hunger Series 2007 (2007), when the children are lack of nutrients during their early childhood, their cognitive development and school achievement will be affected and this negative impact will bring to the adulthood. In short, the normal growth development of children will be influenced by World Hungry.
In conclusion, climate, poverty and overpopulation are the causes of world hunger while this will bring negative effect on growth of children. If the society does not concern about this issue, the problem of world hunger will become worst and worst in the future. Therefore, people all over the world should gather together with one mind to help the hunger victims as much as possible to free from hunger
