Since the 1960’s, the fact of Religion has boomed across America and Europe (Porthero, 1). A clam that stems all the way back to William Blake that “All Religions are one” (Porthero, 1). As many cultures are different in their history, geography and well-being of life. All coming together that same goal of god. Though as said in the writing, “all religions share is not so much God as the Good-the sweet harmony of peace, love and understanding” that writer Karen Armstrong states (Porthero, 2). Many religions believe in similar understandings of basic facts, like killing of another and having sex with your mother. They differ though in the non-essential facts. As religions are diverge on the doctrine, ritual, mythology, experience, and law (Porthero, 3). Porthero gives a great example of how he believes religion is, showing all religions are traveling to the top of the mountain, a similar goal of reaching god, or faith, which is through the mountain foot hills we meet as one. But different mountains call upon different religions (Porthero, 4). Yes, in many ways religion shares ideas of peace or war, but at through the end they don’t all share the same true belief as one.
