While doing this research and analyzing the crimes, the first theory that can to my mind was the routine activist theory. Routine activities theory stresses that criminal behavior takes place with the three variables that reflect our everyday routines. In this theory, it states that there should be a motivated offender, a suitable target, and the absence of a guardian (Walsh 2015, p. 61). The lack of guidance was the reason why these homes were being robbed.
