Mowry and provides and goes in depth about how and why Theodore Roosevelt became president. George E. Mowry was an American historian and had earned his masters and doctorate degree in history. He wrote the article by taking Theodore Roosevelt’s notes and transferring them into this article, meaning all the information is accurate and directly from Roosevelt. The article’s main focus is about Theodore’s presidential period and why he even decided to run for vice president. The audience of this article is mostly for scholars that are interested in how and why Theodore came into politics. The author came to the conclusion that Theodore Roosevelt got fed up with President William Howard after his trip to Africa and wanted to try to change everything, but failed. His main argument is that Roosevelt failed to see that the political party was split up, and instead made everything worse. This article is not as trustworthy as the other, but it also includes good information. The source was very biased, and because the author didn’t like Theodore Roosevelt, more negative things than positive we said. Towards the end, he mentions that Roosevelt’s “inability to feel deeply on any issue” (533 Mowry) led to the “two wings of the party” (Mowry, 533) becoming even more split. Many of these articles were biased and portrayed either the bad parts of Theodore or the good ones. But after reading and comparing them all, the readers can see that Roosevelt is just a human being that can also make mistakes, but that he also improved this country. He faced many challenges in his life, like when his wife and mother died on the same day, or when he wasn’t appointed mayor of New York City. But even with these hardships, he managed to focus on what was best for the country and for the
