After being sold multiple times, he was purchased by Europeans who shipped him to Barbados and then to Virginia.” (Equiano) That statement perfectly shows that before the Atlantic Slave Trade, the idea and usage of slaves is already present, it is in use well before Columbus even discovered America; It was in our nature at the dawn of civilization.
