The agents of socialization are how society affects our orientation towards life (Henslin, 2014). They also prepare us to take our place in society. Agents of Socialization play a significant role in the individual lives of our society. These Agents determine a general outlook on who we are, what we do, and what we can achieve. The three main agents of socialization that have played a part in internalizing culture and developing a social identity in our lives are family, school, and religion.

School is a place where we get educated with knowledge and new intellectual skills. For example, math, reading and other subjects are the manifest functions of this system. Latent functions are unintended consequences. For example, in society to socialize kids into following rules, using school textbooks and other behaviors. The curriculum in schools plays a significant role in teenage lives on how they develop their understanding of functions and social skills. “School help kids to adopt the social order through hidden curriculum and functions in order to prepare the latter for a stable adult life” (Buenconsejo, 2011, slide 6). “The corridor curriculum is what students teach each other outside the classroom. Unfortunately, the corridor curriculum seems to emphasize racism, sexism, illicit ways to make money, and coolness” (Henslin, 2014, pg. 81). Social class divides children into different education worlds. Children, who have rich parents go to private schools, learn values and skills that are their level position. Middle-class parents, who have children go to public schools, learn about good jobs, even professions. On the other hand, children who are from blue-collar families learn that not all of their kind will become leaders and professionals. Without agents of socialization, we would not learn any values, beliefs, and norms. In addition, we would not develop attitudes and behaviors if it were not for our families. In school, we learn so many things to get through life. We develop knowledge and intellectual skills and other skills that teachers provide us. School has helped us to adopt the social order through hidden curriculum and functions. We have learned cultural systems, beliefs through religion. Family, school and religion are the three agents of socialization that have played a part in our
