The medical term is tinea pedis or Athlete’s foot. It’s well-known fungal foot conditions and one of the most common. With its tendency to affect athletes who usually wear hot, sweaty shoes that can be the breeding ground for fungus that are the main cause of the condition, tinea pedis coined the athlete’s foot. This condition can affect anyone so it's not limited to athletes only.

One of the main factors that contribute to athlete’s foot is sweat, it’s a normal reaction to the hot environment inside a shoe. It makes the chances higher for fungal infections even further because some people may have excess sweating. For dermatophytes and other fungi to thrive, the heat and humidity inside shoes create an ideal environment.
Tips for Prevention and Treatment of Athlete's Foot
● It is recommended to use synthetic socks made with acrylic or polypropylene. Wicks away moisture better than cotton from these materials, which holds moisture close to the skin.
● Including those that have breathable mesh tops, wear sneakers with good ventilation.
● When you are not wearing them, allow your shoes to dry and air out don't keep them in a gym bag.
● Like around public pools or in locker rooms, wear sandals or other shoes when in areas where fungi thrive.
● Look for brands that have either butenafine or terbinafine as active ingredients when choosing over-the-counter (OTC) antifungal creams. The reason that causes tinea pedis, these medications have good potency against most of the
