They believe that also a fire where a group of 12 men would shovel coal into the a part of the ship’s engine to keep it running. They believe that the extreme temperatures affected the steel of the ship, causing the steel to warp and making it more easy to bend. So that the ship’s steel lining was weak from the temperatures and making it more easy to rip through the lining of the ship, making it more easy to sink the ship. Also notable to mention, History.com As many people suspect that the Titanic never sank, History.com shows the world…
Studio one will transform into an industrial engine room of a underwater shipwreck. One of those dirty unseen rooms with frightening looking machinery that you must wear a hard hat to enter. The audience will be sitting in proscenium style with their chairs on risers. Aspects of the set will leek their way into the seating space. Machinery, pipes, frayed mooring ropes and grated platforms will be above their heads.…
But why was if their fault? Here is why these people’s actions caused the sinking of the Titanic. The radio workers, almost as soon as the ship left for sea, were getting warnings of floating ice and Icebergs in their way further out in the Atlantic Ocean. But what would a little bit of floating ice do to the unsinkable ship after all?…
in 1912. Over a thousand innocent people died that dark night and there has been many explanations as to why it happened. On April 14, 1912, a ship called the Titanic from the White Star ocean liner hit an iceberg that seemed small at first and sank near Newfoundland (“Titanic Sinking”). Passenger ships normally travel in what’s called the “summer route” from January 15 to August 14. It is further than the winter route which should’ve been safer, but the winter was unusually mild, causing ice to drift further south than usual.…

Ever since I was a young boy, attending Massachusetts Maritime Academy has been a dream of mine. I have put in a lot of hard work over the past four years in order to prepare myself for college and it’s finally time to give it a shot. Throughout my whole life I have always heard my parents and other adults talking about how great of a school Massachusetts Maritime Academy is. This is clearly true because every alumni I have ever spoken to says that it is an amazing college and creates incredible opportunities for every student, leading to a happy and successful life. One big reason that this school is at the top of my list is because my uncle attended here and loved it.…
There are abundant theories regarding what took place that tragic night, but they have all seemed to come to one conclusion. The Titanic was traveling at 22.5 knots, cruising through the waters of the northern Atlantic Ocean (“RMS Titanic”). All at once, she came to an iceberg. The lookouts couldn’t warn the captain quickly enough to navigate around it, and the ship sideswiped it. This happened around 11:40 p.m. ship’s time (Main, Douglas).…

A beautiful tragedy… in April of 1912 The Titanic sunk in the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Nobody knew it was going to be some of their last nights with their loved ones, or the last night they would enjoy the company of an acquaintance they may have come across on their trip on the fateful Titanic. “Not Even God himself Could Sink this Ship” says an Employee of the White Star Line. Passengers and crew members, music, and art work all went down and were forever lost that sad, unfortunate night The Titanic sank.…

The rescue of Captain Phillips was one of the most dangerous and scariest rescue missions of all time. Capitan Phillips was a ship Capitan on the MV Maersk Alabama which was a cargo ship that carried 17,000 tons of cargo that was heading towards Mombasa, Kenya to supply the people of Kenya with aid (2014, travelthruhistory.com). Capitan Phillips was born in Massachusetts and graduated from college, at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Capitan Phillips (2013, R. Phillips) had over 15 crew members at the time of the hijacking which doesn't seem like a whole lot but when it involves Americans, they must be rescued at any cost. The people who hijacked and kidnapped Captain Phillips were the Somali Pirates which they were notorious for these…
