In Mein Kampf, Hitler quotes, “The State’s best defense will lie not in its weapons, but in its citizens, no fortress walls will protect it, but a living wall of men and women filled with supreme love of their fatherland and fanatical nation enthusiasm.” (Document 2) Hitler understood that the revival of the economy would be like killing two birds with one stone. The revival of the Germany economy would result in the revival of German nationalism and so Hitler set out to accomplish that goal. The revival of German nationalism was evident when the people began to attend roll calls and rallies to express their pride. One German Newspaper records the Nazi Party Nuremberg Convection in 1936 with this anecdote: “Attendance at these rallies was so high that the Zepplin Field and stands could not support the vast stream of people who were moving in without pause. Innumerable swastika flags fluttered in the evening breeze, torn from the darkness by floodlights, and providing a sharp contrast to the pitch black nocturnal sky.” (Document 8) Document 8 is biased because it comes from the view of a German Newspaper. Newspapers were used to spread Nazi propaganda and so the newspaper heavily exaggerated the glorified the rallies. With Germany financially stable and the citizens proud, Hitler set out to address the last thing that he
