Diabetes has been a major concern to mankind since a long time. However, this disorder hasn’t found any substantial focus or assessment before the twentieth century. In fact, as informed by Bao et al. (2016), several misconceptions existed regarding its causes, including affluence in the lifestyle. Gradually, with advances in medical sciences and increased health awareness, it came to be known that diabetes is not only caused due to overconsumption of sugar or glucose.
