Mitosis: I start my day with prophase.
Interviewer: Why is that the first thing you do?
Mitosis: Prophase is the first and longest phase in mitosis. During this time, the chromomsomes that I have start to become visable as paired chromatids. The nuclear envelope helps the chromsomes to come together and become paired..
Interviewer: Well whats you next phase that you have to go through?
Mitosis: I go through interphase. Most of my day is spent in interphase. I have to go through cell division everyday and its more than once.
Interviewer: After Interphase what do you do?
Mitosis: After Interphase I go into Metaphase. This doesn’t take up most of my time but it’s a very important part of my day. The chromosomes line up across the center of the cell. …show more content…
Mitosis: I take the two identical sister chromatids in each chromosome and divide them to form two new cells with one chromaid each. The original cell is the parent cell that divides to produce the four new daughter cells. The new cells are called haploids which means that they have one set of chromosomes whereas the parent cell is a diploid and has two, one from each parent. One important part is cytokenesis which makes sure that I have a nucleus in each new daughter cell.
Interviewer: That seems like a lot of work.
Mitosis: It is, but the process isn’t over yet. I have centrioles which are important to me because they help me develop my spindle fibers when I go through cell division. During this time, I also have the metaphase plate which is an equatorial region of the
