Abstract
This writing explores the Information Technology infrastructure of United Parcel Service. Due to the massive amount of technology used within this company, this study will provide a high-level overview of existing systems, emerging technologies, and risk observations in an effort to support UPS’ competitive strategy.
CORE APPLICATION AND INTENT
UPS targets the personal use and business-minded customer with its online tools. Through the use of UPS Online Tools, it is easier to streamline package handling and tracking, delivery confirmations with signatures, and services directly with the company’s intranet and Internet websites. Currently, cloud computing is used for onboard GPS tracking, artificial intelligence, and the ability to resolve immediate issues in real-time.
