The goal of social skills training is that students with emotional and behavior disorders will “produce socially acceptable learned behaviors such as cooperation, assertion, responsibility, empathy, and self-control (Kirk, Gallahger, & Coleman, 2015, p. 269).” Using role play to engage students with emotional and behavior disorders to develop targeted social skills in a stressful setting. These scenarios should be model after incidence that might take place in the day to day life of the student with emotional and behavior disorder.
