The demographics of Virtual police compared to the community show a major difference based on gender and race. In the community of Virtual its population is 299,325 that breaks down to 152,458 women and 147,066 men. It also shows that out of the 156 of the non-sworn and sworn personnel in the police department 49.2 are women. When it comes to population of the community’s race there are 50,000 black citizens and of that 21 are affiliated with the department and less than 3 Hispanic are employed by the department which have a population of 34,145 in the community. My analysis has shown that Uniform Crime Reporting Program part I crimes have risen dramatically over the past year. Crimes such as aggravated assault went up 33 percent, burglary went up 34.5 percent, and thefts went up 16 percent. Uniform Crime Reporting Program part II have also risen from 11 percent to 39.7 percent. The crime rates are growing while arrest for adults for both URC I and II dropped around 24.2 percent and juveniles has also dropped 15.9 percent. These statics show that police are not deploying units properly. The patterns that are seen are crimes that can be deterred by policing patrolling areas where such crimes are being committed these are know hot spot and should receive more attention. This would reduce crimes such as prostitution, burglary, theft, vandalism, and drug violations. Also, learning how to cut the budget without compromising the ability of the force, just never make cuts on safety of the public and officers. According to Police Chief Dwayne Orrick “mastering the budgeting process is critical for the success of the police organization”.
Conclusion
In this paper I have pointed out issue that has crippled the effectiveness of the VPD. This paper has shown four problem and solution from professional development and training, leadership and management, personnel administration and operations. It has shown crime statics, trends and patterns of the crimes that have been reported to the VPD. It has shown where the community policing have dropped to allow these crime rates climb. If the above solution were to be implemented it could save lives and bring the police up to standard and help their community fight
