Most of my experiences, both work and volunteer have been customer service based. I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults, though I wish it was more on a personal level. Most of my experiences have been behind a register or desk, with the exception of my volunteer work.

I loved listening to the stories that the customers would share with me, although most of the stories, i’m sure were exaggerated they were highly entertaining and made my day interesting.
I spend my school year working at the Fitness and Recreation Center. My main responsibilities include keeping the facility clean, educating individuals on how to properly use equipment, and setting up/taking down equipment when needed. I would say that this is one of the most enjoyable jobs I have had so far. It is a laid back atmosphere, I get to be around an environment that I love, and my co workers are all very friendly.
Working at the Fitness and Recreation Center is fairly easy, but there are definitely some tasks that are still difficult for me. The most difficult task for me has been approaching members when they are using a piece of equipment improperly and instructing them on how to properly use it without the individual feeling defeated. I first got into sand sculpting because my stepfather and stepbrother do it for a living and thought I would enjoy it since I am artistic. At first I didn’t really enjoy sculpting I found it to be extremely difficult and I did not have the patience for it, but after a lessons from my stepfather I began to have an interest in it. I practiced sculpting for a couple summers, before teaching lessons to build up my confidence and sculpt quality
