Question 2 In the film Death and the Maiden Paulina’s main claim to her husband she wants Roberto to confess. That Roberto was the one that raped and tortured her. She wants to put Roberto in trial to see if he is guilty. She wanted to rape Roberto and make him feel the pain she endured when she was tortured. She realizes that would do nothing to him and that no revenge can satisfied her. She also claims that it’s crucial for her husband to believe in her. This trust means a lot to her. The film has more of a subjective tone than the book. The book presents more questions in the mind. The ending is different, from the book and the film. In the book we found out the Morales commits suicide and Sandoval’s death is different from the film. In the film he has ugly and sad way of dying.
