Having many material possessions, they are familiar with the concept of disposing of things easily that includes people who get in their way. Since wealthy people have an array of possessions, they cannot truly appreciate gifts because they already have it all. The rich may also always expect material items because that is all they know how to receive. If a child is born into a prosperous family, they do not know what deprivation feels like and they always find the need to surround themselves with an excess amount of items because they believe it makes them happy. The purchases people make will only supply them with temporary happiness because it will never be enough, there will always be a constant need to obtain more material objects. Are they able to differentiate between right and wrong? To some, empathy is a foreign emotion. Many business-people rise to riches from manipulation and control in their work. They have a goal of becoming successful and do not care who they have to hurt in the process. They show a lack of remorse when they have pulled someone down. It is the concept of people believing they are worth more than others due to their big ego, they rank themselves above everyone else. People in the lower or middle class are more likely to understand and show empathy towards others because they have experienced vulnerable economic situations. This reason also helps them make logical decisions. Although, wealthy people might not have empathy towards others because they are constantly paranoid about who their true friends are. The rich may build their ego and only surround themselves with other affluent people to draw a barrier between the rich and poor because of this fear. On the topic of how money psychologically affects a person, I believe it can also cloud a person’s judgment. If someone has more money than they know what to do with, it may lead to bad decisions, such as binge drinking, substance abuse, or lawbreaking. By doing this, they are trying to fill a void that money cannot satisfy. These types of people take action without thinking because they do not have to worry about the potential consequences. The rich can easily pay their way out of a
