The danger of too much wealth is that it can corrupt you and cause you to lose all your morals and values because all you focus on is wealth and getting more wealth. In the book, Daisy is never truly happy. Daisy spends all her time wanting more and looking for this happiness, when really it is ruined for her. She finds herself only happy when she is surrounded by money when she has a lot of lavish items. She has her happiness in material things not in people. As we see in the book not only does she not have a true love for tom or Gatsby but she dent have a love for her fellow friends. Her wealth has almost dehumanized her. She is distant and not caring for others but just for herself. Daisy and the people around her stuck in this wealth lost there smithy for others and there touch in the world. The lost there connect with there family. Wealth consumed them. In Gatsby case it was a goal and consumed his life and his every though. He became cynical want daisy want to find that love. He would do anything to do it so once he got out of the war he set a goal to find her. Once he found her he needed to make himself appealing to her make her want him back. Make her end the relationship she had with Tom and marry him. He turned so cynical that he leaving Tom to be with him just wasn't good enough. Scott Fitzgerald has taught me a lot about the value of wealth and the value of relationships with my friend and my family. It has given me a idea and hope of the wealth the I hope to have one day. I how to work hard and become wealthy. Wealthy enough that my kids and grandkids will never have to worry about money. I want them to also work hard and hopefully it will pay off in there favor but I also never want them to struggle. I never want to look back and see my kids or anyone down my life struggling to get food on the table. I want to leave a legacy for them. Inside that legacy I don't want there to just be money though. I want to share with my line that money and wealth may be important to the society around you, but the people are more important. It is great to have the earthy riches and have the best products when they come out but when you are on your deathbed it is not the money that you will remember. The thing that you will remember most is the people. The friends and family you have the memory you acquired over your life. If those thoughts are just filled with money and the accomplishment that you achieved then you did something wrong though out your life.
