What political correctness has done is making educators to be afraid to challenge their students. Political correctness is a form of self-built barrier that stops people from expressing, speaking and acting by forcing them to consider everything, such as race, gender and socio-economic status, before responding to what is obvious and sitting in front of them. It also made various people, who needs to challenge their ideas and broach certain topics, to be afraid of what they say therefore stifling their unique viewpoints and voices. It is causing people to stop talking and intellectual debate and thoughts to be stopped. Explorers who manage themselves to ‘think outside of the box’ are being treated as anti-humanism and the society makes them to retrieve back rather than to move forward. Therefore, political correctness does not benefit our society from developing or reforming, but only refine what we currently have now. For example, violence was needed for revolution in our world history, which was out of the common sense. We all have the absolute freedom of opinion and sentiment on all subjects, practical or speculative, scientific, moral or theological and this is required to push our arguments to logical limits, rather than the limits of social embarrassment for the dignity of persons. (Mill, 2016) There are always chances that new concepts of theory in any field such as science, religion, philosophy, and art may be discovered and because they don’t fit into the norms of our society it is wrong to see them from the perspectives for political correctness.
