Employers have willing to get compensation when they resign from the work or has been terminated but some of them do not have enough knowledge relating with compensation rates. Most of the conflicts between employer and employee are “compensation” said Daw Thet Su Mon, Staff Officer at Yankin Township Labor Office.
Most of the labors in garment factories are not clearly know about how many day-offs they can entitle to take a year and all of the gazette holidays shall not deducted salary with any reasons. “I only know that gazette days are holidays and I don’t dare to take a day offs without emergency cases. According to Leave and Holiday Act 1951, workers have the right to enjoy various types of leave and holidays with pay such as Casual Leave which can get 6 days with full pay in a year but not more than (3) consecutive days at a time and it shall lapse, if it is not enjoyed within a year, Earned Leave are entitled to get (10) consecutive days with average pay for the workers who have worked continuously for (12) months, the workers who have completed at least (6) months of services are entitled to get Medical leaves not more than (30)days with full pay by submitting medical certificate but it shall lapse if it is not taken within a year.
