The death penalty, to some it is known as the grimmest way to die, but to others it is considered the savior or protector to humanity. This argument is one of the many buzzing all over America’s juries and even social media. Unequivocally, many citizens of the United States have discrepant accounts on the topic of the pros and cons of our nation’s death penalty. Opponents of this argument may assert that the capital punishment is inhumane, unfair to ‘perpetrators’ who are innocent, and that it is malevolent to put mentally ill ‘victims’ on death row. However, advocates of this disputation may refute that if the death penalty is rescind, then crime rates will increase, more lives will be in danger, and that the deterrent effect won’t be as sufficient. The death penalty discourages many from committing a crime, simply because they don’t want to die. The disincentive the death penalty proposes is strong enough that it has enough power to drive one away in case of crime. When a criminal is plotting a plan, they are most likely going to try to avoid the penalty of death, well of course if they aren’t suicidal. If they try their best to avoid the death penalty, then there crime wouldn’t be as bad. At least that is what adversaries hope. Proponents also argue that with the keepsake of the death penalty, crime rates show a dramatic decrease in states who have kept the punishment alive, compared to states that have canceled the capital’s
