The first New Deal created many new programs that were aimed to help improve the country. One of the programs was the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), which provided work for boys who were unemployed and unmarried. They did a variety of work and made thirty dollars a month and twenty five dollars of their pay got sent home to their families. The CCC employed about 3 million young men. Another one of the programs he created was called the National Industrial Recovery Act, “the two major parts of which dealt with economic recovery and public-works projects.” (1107) The Public Works Administration was created and gave jobs to private contractors to build things like Skyline Drive in Virginia and the Chicago Subway
