The purpose of my project is to see what causes teenagers and adults the most stress and how they deal with their stress.
In today's society, teenagers have become more stressed than the adults. Some reasoning behind this is because teenagers want to impress friends, are worried about college, and teenagers who have to work to support their families. While adults are stressed over supporting their children, work, and financial issues. Stress is the brain's response to any demand. Many things cause stress, whether it’s an illness or something that’s going on in your life that causes you to worry. Stress causes your adrenaline and cortisol to rush through your body. Furthermore, stress can cause your immune system to be lowered and in some cases force your digestive, excretory, and reproductive systems to stop functioning properly. There are two forms of stress acute or chronic. Acute Stress is thrilling in small doses, but too much can cause exhaustion. Chronic Stress is also known as long term stress. Chronic Stress is caused by issues that have not been resolved or when someone sees no way out of a critical situation. For example, if your parents make you sign up for all Pre-AP classes and expect 95 and aboves, but you’re supposed be in regulars you would become worried which would cause stress. In this situation it would be Chronic Stress because the child would see no way out of the situation and this would turn into long term stress.
